"I am very pleased to announce the internal promotions of two very qualified individuals who exemplify the strength of our international management talent," said Jeffrey A. Joerres, Chairman & CEO of Manpower Inc.

"Manpower is the only staffing provider that offers a complete network of staffing solutions across Asia Pacific, and I am confident that Iain Herbertson has the ability to ensure that we fully capitalize on this competitive advantage as the regional labor market continues to evolve," Joerres added. Herbertson, who has been with Manpower since 1993, will be based in Singapore where he will lead the company's Asia Pacific operations across the 12 countries of Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, India, Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea and China (PRC). He will report directly to Manpower's Chairman & CEO, Jeffrey A. Joerres.

"Tony Howard's extensive knowledge of the U.K. staffing market, and his long history of growth in both revenue and profitability throughout his 10-year tenure as Managing Director of Brook Street Bureau, make him the ideal person to take the reins of Manpower in the U.K. and Ireland," said Joerres. Howard will report to Yoav Michaely, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Manpower's EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa, excluding France).

Howard and Herbertson will both assume their new roles on the 1st of October. The company's Asia Pacific region was previously managed by Terry Hueneke, who retired as Executive Vice President of the Americas and Asia Pacific in January 2002.
