Chicago's French-American Chamber of Commerce to Honor Manpower's Joerres as Executive of the Year

CHICAGO, April 21, 2005--The French-American Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Chapter, will honor the head of America's most admired staffing agency on Friday, May 6, 2005, when it presents Jeffrey A. Joerres, chairman and CEO of Manpower Inc., with its prestigious Executive of the Year award. The award is presented annually to an executive who has made significant contributions to fostering commerce and cross-cultural exchange between the United States and France.

"Jeff is a distinguished leader in the employment services industry worldwide, with a strong commitment to furthering French-American business relationships," said Bernard Quancard, president of the 260-member French-American Chamber of Commerce-Chicago. "Manpower's position in France is testimony to his global perspective as well as his dedication to providing quality employment opportunities to the French people."

The 13th Annual "La Nuit des Etoiles (Night of the Stars) Executive of the Year" event will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel, 120 East Delaware Place, Chicago.

Presenting the Executive of the Year award will be his Excellency Jean-David Levitte, French Ambassador to the United States. Other leading French diplomatic and trade officials in the U.S. and France also will be present at the event.

Joerres was appointed president and CEO of Manpower Inc. in 1999, and chairman of the board in 2001. He joined Manpower Inc. in 1993 as vice president of marketing and then served as senior vice president of European operations and global account management and development. Prior to joining Manpower Inc., Joerres was vice president of sales and marketing for ARI Network Services, and he has held several management positions at IBM. Joerres received a bachelor of science degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The French-American Chamber of Commerce-Chicago is a not-for-profit corporation.
